Monitoring Groups

Turn a list of people into a response team.

A monitoring group is a named team with a job: a set of people, watching a set of devices. Day shift. Night escalation. The contractor who looks after the north yard. Each group carries a name and a note describing what it covers, and shows at a glance how many contacts it holds and how many devices it is responsible for.

Groups are how coverage becomes deliberate rather than accidental. Instead of notifying everyone about everything, which is the fastest way to teach people to ignore alerts, each group receives only the devices it owns. Groups export and import as CSV with their membership intact, so a coverage model built at one site can be carried to the next without being rebuilt by hand.

At a glance:

  • Named teams with descriptive notes
  • Live count of contacts and devices covered
  • Built and renamed in place
  • CSV export and import, membership included
  • Targeted notification instead of blanket alerts
